~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It hadn’t taken him long to find the men, they were as quiet and as subtle as an elephant running through a store that sold fine china. As he watched several men carry a large crate towards a large van, he found himself wishing he had access to Clark’s x-ray vision. Whatever was in it though was heavy as it was taking all three men to carry the one crate. When he heard the sound of someone barking out orders, his attention turned to the van. Whoever the guy was, he was hidden behind the van.
When Elena had come into view, he hoped down from the large steel crate that he was standing on to stand beside her. He gave her a moment to assess the situation for herself as he grabbed several batarangs from his utility belt. When she gave the signal that she was ready, he threw the smoke bombs at the trio of men.
Once the smoke exploded around them, he heard the sound of the wooden crate hitting the ground, and shattering open. Tapping the side of his cowl, his sight changed to infrared so that he could see the men through the dense smoke. Throwing each of his batarangs, they hit the men in the arms, and sent electric volts through their bodies. As they fell to the ground with a thud, he ran toward the group, and jumped up on to the roof of the van.
Elena watched as Bruce err Batman went into action he obviously knew what to do no matter what time frame he was in. Elena jumped in as well though Batman had pretty much done all of the work for her. When she saw him jump toward the white van Elena went after him leaving the box of dropped technology behind. She jumped onto the white van standing next to Batman to get a good look of the bosses of this little project. There was a man with a crow bar then one with a gun.
Oh look one for each of us Elena thought sarcastically throwing a red bat a rang at the gun which lodged hit the man’s hand forcing him to drop it. Then Elena jumped down bringing her leg up to kick the man in the face, Batman would only need one consciousness and to be honest Elena wasn’t much of a fan for people with guns unless they were cops. The man with the crowbar stared at Batwoman and Batman unsure of which one to deal with first the woman or man obviously they both knew how to protect themselves.
“Listen you can answer Batman’s questions here the easy way or the hard way the chose is yours but just to warn you he is much worse than the Batman you’re used to” Batwoman warned the man holding eye contact with the man behind her mask before she picked up the forgotten gun immediately removing the cartridge of bullets before putting them into her utility belt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He crouched against the roof of the large van as Elena took care of the thug with the gun. With him subdued, he knew he wouldn’t have to worry about her pulling some amateur move and getting shot. At least she was smart enough to leave one of the men alive so that he could have a polite little talk with him. As Elena started to warn the remaining man, he tapped the side of his cowl to resume his normal vision.
Where were you taking the crate? He growled at the man.
I ain’t telling you or Batbitch nothing. So stick it up your…
The vigilante didn’t give the man the chance to finish. In a flash, he was off the roof of the van and on top of the thug. Holding him tightly by the collar as he scowled angrily at him, he held the criminal’s face only inches away from his own. Reaching into his utility belt, he grabbed his batline, and fired it at the crane overhead.
Wrong answer scumbag, he growled once again.
Pulling them both high into the air, the thug began to scream and yell in fear. The Dark Knight carried the man to the top of the crane. Grabbing the man by the ankle, he held him upside down over the ledge of the crane. He didn’t have time for games and he wasn’t about to play with this lowlife.
Now tell me what I want to know, he yelled at the screaming man.
I don’t know anything! I swear. Thorne told us to steal the crate. That’s it. We don’t even know what’s in it. I swear!
Narrowing his eyes, Batman threw the man behind him. Glaring at him coldly, Batman reaching into his utility belt, and pulled out some line. Stepping toward the man, he grabbed him by the ankle and tied the line around it. Once he secured the other end of the line, he tossed the man off the side of the crane. Slowing the screaming criminal’s descent, the Dark Knight waited until he was about twelve feet off the ground before letting him drop the extra ten feet without help.
Jumping down off the crane, Bruce landed beside Elena, and away from the puddle of urine that had formed under the criminal hanging upside down, with his scowl still on his face. These guys don’t have the answers I’m looking for. They are just working for the Thorne crime family, he explained. Now which one of these crates or ships should we start looking at?

Elena snarled almost when the man called her ‘bat-bitch’ she was about to knock him out when Batman did something far worst to him. Batwoman would never assume Batman was bluffing ever again, the Dark Knight made good on his threat and hung the man upside down then let him fall though he didn’t kill him. That was something Elena doubted that she could find from the current Batman, he was more violent but still Elena thought he was a good man.
Batwoman smirked when Batman returned completely ignoring what had just happened it was irrelevant to him now that he was sure that this wasn’t Luthor affiliated. Still Elena had to admire his perseverance he was willing to look through all the crates, buildings and ships that were here for his clues.
“Splitting up would be a good idea the warehouses here are pretty huge as well as the ships it would be faster to search them alone though you would need to tell me what I was looking for” Elena said going back to her serious nature. Moving away from Batman she looked at the abandoned crate that had been dropped when Batman had taken down the Thorne lackies. The lid had been broken off and the contents spilled onto the floor. At a closer inspection the box was mixed with technology and weapons definitely not the guy that Batman was hoping to catch.
“Oh but if you don’t feel like telling me about how you suddenly came back into society after being gone for how many years I’ll figure it out on my own but I will prove that you’re who I think you are” Elena promised determination underlaced in her words, she really believed that this Batman was Bruce Wayne something in her gut assured her it was though she only needed the proof.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Her mentioning of him being Bruce Wayne was getting on his nerves. While her theory was correct, he had more important things to deal with than some acrophobic, amateur vigilante trying to find proof of his identity. It was probably because of his frustration that Bruce grabbed Elena by the shoulders and slammed her up against the van as he glared at her from behind his white lenses.
Listen very closely. I don’t have time for you little games, he said with a raised voice that was full of annoyance. Now you can either shut up and help me or go home to your mother.
Letting go of her, he turned away from her, and walked towards the group of ships that were currently docked. It was obvious that he didn’t care which route the red-head took. He was on a mission and one of the ships he was walking toward possibly possessed the information he needed to track down Lex. And once Lex was found, he and his friends could go home where he wouldn’t have to deal with this future. Even more, he’d be able to ensure that it never came to pass at all.
Elena wouldn’t lie when she was thrown against the van it hurt and then Batman’s words made it hurt a little bit more. It wasn’t anything that Elena couldn’t handle; verbal abuse was something she had to take at work when you were a woman on one of the toughest departments in the Police Department. Though he made her think of her mother Vicki once more, she wasn’t exactly supportive of either of Elena’s careers. She didn’t want to see her only child get hurt and the thought of Elena being in the line of fire constantly in one of the most dangerous cities in the country and being a masked vigilante at night, it was too much for a woman to handle at times. Elena hated making her mother worry and create that strain between the two but Elena felt like this was something she had to do and she wouldn’t let anyone not even Batman tell her otherwise.
“Fine we split up to look for whatever it is you’re looking for” Elena sneered back at Bruce before moving toward the loading docks on some of the ships nearby. None of them had left yet and they were bound to be filled with not only merchandise but guards protecting the merchandise as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We’ll meet back at Wayne Tower to discuss what we’ve found. Unless it involves Lex Luthor, I’m not interested, he said coldly as he ignored the tone of her remark.
Continuing on the docked ships, Bruce went to work on searching them. He expected each vessel to have its own private security, but doubted that they would cause him any trouble. He had years of experience of getting in and out of places without detection.
And getting in and out without issue he did. Sure he came across a couple goons armed with AKMs, but he wasn’t anything he couldn’t handle as he managed to take out each man quietly without any of them getting off a shot or shout. Though he didn’t find anything involving Lex, which annoyed him, he did at least find out who was ordering all the outdated tech.
After several hours, Bruce was back at Wayne Tower. He stood there rigid and unmoving as his cape blew softly in the cool breeze. Though his search turned up nothing, well except Intergang’s involvement, he still hoped that Elena’s search yielded more positive results. If not, then he was back to square one…again.

To be honest Elena wasn’t entirely sure why she didn’t just leave Batman to work alone, why she was going from ship to ship beating up bad guys for a man who didn’t even want her help. Elena hadn’t really gotten anything out of her search beside a bruised shoulder thanks to taking a nasty hit with a metal bat to it. Though the search hadn’t been totally worthless she managed to get a small collection of paper’s for recent Luthor shipments there was really little there since Lexcorp was still very much and enemy of Wayne Tech but still it was better than nothing.
Quickly pulling out a small camera Elena took pictures of the weeks that Batman had asked for when he was asking for odd shipments then put the collection back where she found it. Once she was positive there wasn’t anything to look for she went back to her batcycle and drove to Wayne Enterprises.
Batwoman parked her motorcycle and climbed onto a nearby building gliding to the rooftop of Wayne Enterprises. She was far too tired for her fear to really get to her tonight, not to her surprise Batman was there before she was. “Sorry I didn’t find anything that had Luthor’s name on it” Elena explained before pulling out the small camera and tossing it to Batman. “There’s some of the shipment records on there from Lexcorp that correspond with the weeks you asked for but this was the best I could find” Batwoman reported.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bruce could see the tiredness and fatigue in Elena as she moved and spoke, figuring that she still wasn’t used to the long nights and hard work. On the bright side, she had managed to bring him some information regarding LexCorp. That was a big bonus, considering he hadn’t turned up anything involving Lex or his company.
Looking over the camera she had tossed to him briefly, he placed it inside his utility belt before looking back to her. It’s a start, he said simply. Better than nothing. I also found out that Intergang is behind the shipments of outdated tech. It seems that the Annabelle Marie is their flagship or sorts. If you want to find the information to bring them down, that’s were you’ll want to start, he added.
He didn’t know if his successor or anyone else was investigating or working against Intergang at the moment, though he would like to hope that they were, he wasn’t about to not share the information he found. He just hoped that they put it to good use.
Now go home. You’re exhausted and you don’t need to be passing out in the middle of patrolling.
Elena had the tiniest smirk on her face when Batman responded to her, he didn’t say it directly but Elena figured she mustn’t had done too badly tonight. She listened to what Bruce told her about the real culprits behind the tech buying and Elena gave him a firm nod she had plans of telling the commissioner first thing tomorrow morning or evening as Batwoman once more.
Batwoman would probably have to tell Batman about their little discovery as well she didn’t think this is something he shouldn’t know about maybe Oracle could help her get in touch with him somehow. When Batman said for her to go home and get some rest she didn’t think it was really an order, but it definitely wasn’t a suggestion either.
“And here I didn’t think you cared, but I’ll take your suggestion you should probably get some rest as well. No matter how long you’ve been doing this” Batwoman said back if anything a hint of teasing was in her voice. But none the less she kept true to her word and with a wave to Bruce glided off the Wayne Enterprise Tower and back to her batcycle where she planned to just sleep over at the Clocktower once more.
