Selena walked down the halls of the Hall of Justice since the Titans Tower had been taken over by the Injustice League this was the team’s temporary home. To be honest Selena didn’t like it, she and her friend suffered a humiliating defeat and it wasn’t getting any better with all the villain problems that were coming up. The world needed heroes and heroes like her mother weren’t around to protect the world. Sighing she moved into a living room in the building. The rooms were large and intricate in design, there was a large fire place, two sofa’s facing each other, a desk and another chair for it then a large book case in the corner next to a grandfather clock. The room was elegant in its own way. To be honest Selena liked the more Greek designs of those found on Themyscira.
Moving deeper into the room Selena laid out on the couch watching the fire burn, she was fully dressed in her Wonder Girl costume not feeling the need to change into a more casual set of clothes. She would have to call Steve and let him know that she would be home late. She didn’t want him waiting up for her or getting worried if she didn’t go home that night. Sad thing was in times like these you had the right to worry your super hero didn’t return home or to their city the day they left.

Elizabeth sighed as she slung her backpack off her shoulder and onto the couch with a ‘plop’. With a slight slouch in her step, she kicked off her shoes rather lazily and headed towards the fridge. Upon opening it, she realized that, yet again, the fridge was filled with junk food and soda, which was good considering the age of her partners and herself, but yet again Lizzibeth felt her heart drop. She really missed having a home-cooked meal, despite the absence of them in her early childhood. Around the age of 14, Elizabeth made some seriously bad mac and cheese for her dad. He ate it, despite how gross it must have been, and Lizzie’s been cooking ever since. What with the suffering defeat The Teen Titans had against the Injustice League, Elizabeth thought it would only help if the team had a nice meal for once.
“Ring?” Elizabeth asked, “You wouldn’t happen to have some recepies in you for some simple meals, would you?”
The ring processed the request and answered with a simple list of foods. Lizzie chose some simple burgers, but not before taking out her phone and txting the team to see what their thoughts were:
“Heading out 2 town for supplies. Want burgers?”

With a loud VROOOOOOOOOOOM Jake pulled into the garage of the Hall of Justice. He opened the door and jumped in, in his Nightwing suit. "Burgers!? I love burgers!" He said cheerfully as he walked past Lizzie. He went and plopped down on the couch, smiling and winking at Selena in the process. He began tinkering with a Wingding before unloading his utility belt all over the table. He knew it would make the girls mad but he didn't care.
"What're we watching on tv?" He asked, pointing towards the screen. He grabbed a wingding with a string attached that's supposed to wrap around something and began twirling it out of boredom. He set it down and began doing flips to amuse himself and possible amuse the girls. He texted his dad saying he wouldn't be home for dinner and that he was eating with his team mates, but Dick would probably enjoy the free time. "So how're you, ladies?" Jake asked.

Elizabeth sighed slightly. Jake Grayson, or Nightwing, was like her little brother—pesky, childish, and annoying, but you gotta love him anyways. You saw the kid grow up into the imperfect yet lovable being he is today.
“I’ma go get my stuff together. Dinner’ll be on in five, okay?”
Still, Elizabeth felt her annoyance rise as she looked out onto the table and saw all of Jakey’s weapons and knickknacks on it. She knew the boy needed to do this, but he could always do it in his own room. Still, she’d drop it. This was just Jakey being Jakey.
“So, what ya’ll want on the burgers?”

Selena opened her mouth to say something to Nightwing about not leaving his utility belt on the table but just closed her mouth and shook her head; he wouldn’t listen to anything with this little of importance. When she heard of burgers Selena got up from the couch and went to Elizabeth in the kitchen, she wanted to help out if she could. “ If you don’t mind I’d like to help out with the food….actually Jake you should help too” Selena said to their leader her hands on her hips a pout on her lips she though Jake should help out since they would be making his food too, then since she was in her Wonder Girl costume she hoped that she looked a little bit threatening to the taller male. Moving away from Jake she turned back to her fellow Teen Titan, Elizabeth, or as she was known by the public Green Lanten. “ So what’s first?”

Elizabeth smiled widely. She could not believe how lucky she was to have Selena want to help out with the food, and Jakey helping to boot! That boy helping out in the kitchen was like Elizabeth doing trigonometry—not happening in any ordinary situation, where the subject could be ignored.
“Well, first off we’re gonna need some ground beef. 20% will probably come back to haunt us in our forties, but it’s all worth it for a good tasting peace of meet, right?”
Elizabeth scooped the burger bread out of the pantry and turned the stove on.
“Jakey, if you’re in on this, get toasting the bread please. Selena and I will be working on the patties and the codomains.”

As Selena and Lizzie both bossed the leader around, he grinned. "Alright, it's my meal too, so I'll help." He told them and began to roast the buns, turning the dial down a bit for his alone. "So how was everyone's day?" He asked the group. Feeling the heat in the kitchen-physically not metaphorically- He walked off to his room and came back in wearing nothing but his black sleeveless shirt, blue jean shorts and black socks. He almost walked out shirtless but figured he might burn himself or one of the girls might yell. He ran and sock-slid over to the toaster-oven and took the buns out.
He set them on a plate and placed them on the table and opened the fridge to get some drinks. "What do you guys want to drink?" Jake asked Selena and Lizzie and grabbed a coke for himself.

Selena smiled when Jake was finally pushed into helping them, she thought it was only fair and plus the food would be prepared much faster this way. Deciding to get her portion of the work done Selena flew to the pantry where the proper untensils needed for making a burger were kept, she grabbed them then flew back to the counter placing them there then flew to the fridge pulling out everything else that someone could place on a burger.
“ I’ll take a water Jake and my day was surprising good” Selena said with a small smile on her face. Though she didn’t have many friends at her school that didn’t matter to her, she had all the friends she would ever need here with the Titans. Though she was only there to learn at school so friends weren’t much of a necessity to the young Amazon. Then of course there was the incident with the boy who grabbed her…he would recover eventually but that had actually made Selena’s mood a little bit better.

Lizzie smiled, inwardly at first, and then let it crawl up the edges of her lips—The team was acting like a family! A much needed change of pace, in her eyes. At the mention of Selena’s good day, Lizzie gave a “good for you!” with a wide smile. . . .she will never really know why she felt like an older sister to all of them, even though Selena was probably much older, given the whole Amazon thing.
“My day was good Jakey boy!” Lizzie hollered over her shoulder, “and I’ll take a coke, dude.”
Turning her attention to her assistant, Lizzie wracked her mind for directions. The first thing to do was a no-brainer: “Selena, we’re gonna need to give our hands a good scrubin’ before handling the meat. After that, we tend the patties!” Lizzie exclaimed in that typical cheery, expressive voice of hers. Lizzie was happy, so her tone was happy.
Today, Lizzie and her team would eat like. . . your average teenagers. A nice change of atmosphere.
