It was a cold night in Gotham City, which was odd as it was summer after all. The weather was foreboding and others took it as a sign that something bad is about to happen. What many didn't know was that they were right. Something was coming and it's herald had already arrived.
Above the city on one of the many gothic structures stood a man cloaked in black. A sword on his back and a mask on the top of his face. The mask was demonic it had horns and teeth that would haunt many a dreams for any to see them. This was a man that exuded an aura that would force anyone to want to avoid this man. That was not the case as this man had already orchestrated something in the name of his master.
"Yes master..." His voice like stone as he spoke to an unseen voice. "The teams are in position and will begin on your command." He said. "As you wish my master. My warriors; Begin!" He had exclaimed and in several places people dressed in tattered and torn clothing began attacking people and stealing.
"In the Demon's name...it begins..."

The night was odd, there was a tense feeling in the air like the quiet before the storm and to be honest Batwoman didn’t like it. It was foreboding at it put the black and red clad vigilante on the edge, it made her more observant of everything that was going on in her city. She used her grappling hook to swing from building to building, despite her fear of heights she found that if she just focused on one thing it wasn’t so bad. When she landed on a rooftop of the highest building closet to her chaos began to ensue simultaneously like if it was planned. People in tattled and torn clothing explode onto the streets from god knows where and began attacking civilians and robbing.
Batwoman wasted no time gliding down landing on one of the men who was attacking a blonde woman. Then it turned into a fist fight, Elena versus everyone of them. It was like they had done all this just to draw Batwoman out and too be honest that worried Elena. Who would go to all these lengths to just draw out Batwoman? Either way Elena decided to worry about that later now it was one woman against an army. She used her martial arts training to attack all of them though they seemed to know how to fight themselves, plus the ones who weren’t fighting her were still causing chaos in the streets. This was going to be a long, painful night.
Sneering Elena ducked a hit then grabbed the arm of her attacker flipping him over her, he went flying into one of his comrades knocking them both over. Though whenever Elena took out one or two there were three or four to take their place. Though her Batwoman persona liked this she wanted to keep fighting she had so much frustration to take out and these people here were the perfect punching bags. With this in mind Elena grabbed one of the men by the shoulders pulling herself up to knee him in the chin.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jack had been out on his normal patrol when everything had gone down. Soaring off the streets of Gotham like he always did, his black and yellow cape billowed out behind him as he flew. And, like always, Jack had a vibrant smile on his face as well. At least he did until his eyes had spotted a group of masked men beating up a couple men in the middle of street.
Swooping down, Robin grabbed one of the masked men by the collar, and threw him across the street into a brick building. Didn’t your mothers ever tell you ass clowns to play nice?
Sure the question was rhetorical, but he didn’t care. The Teen Wonder always had a line or two ready to be thrown out at any time. He was a bit like his dad and Uncle Dick in that aspect, something that made JB believe that he was in good company and on the right track if he had something in common with two of the greatest heroes around.
Spinning around in time to see one of the men rush him, Robin did a back flip and caught the man under the chin with his feet. As the thug flew threw the air, the other one pulled out a combat knife. He watched with a grin as the masked man charged him while his buddy landed on the roof of a car parked a couple feet away. Only the thug didn’t attack with the knife like Jack had expected. Instead the man leapt at him and drove a knee into his chest. Stumbling back a step from the blow, Jack shook his head as the man finally lunged at him with the knife. Grabbing the blade, Robin squeezed, and crushed the blade…much to the thug’s surprise.
You know, it’s not nice to play with knives.
Jumping up at the thug, Jack drove his knee into the man’s jaw as he brought an elbow down on the top of the masked man’s head. When he was sure that the two in front of him weren’t getting up, Jack turned toward the other man he had thrown against the wall, and was surprised to see him climbing a ladder on the side of a building. Just as Robin was about to rush after him, a kick to the back of the head halted the idea.
Turning back around, Robin saw the man who had landed on the car roof standing in front of him swinging his foot around. Connecting with Jack’s jaw, the Teen Wonder stumbled back a couple steps in surprise. Shaking his head, Robin was quick to raise his arm to block the next attack that was coming his way. As the thug took a step back and took up a fighting stance, the young detective couldn’t help but think that there was more going on than met the eye. Deciding to end it all quickly, Robin flew at the masked thug, and drove his elbow into the man’s face with enough force to break the guy’s nose and knock him unconscious. Turning his attention to the roof once more, JB soared up into the sky.
Bringing his hand to his ear, Jack watched at the man the other thug ran swiftly, and expertly, across the city rooftops. Hey Red, there is something really fishy going on down around Ellerdale and Sixtieth. You should also send the cops and ambulance down here too.
Flying off after the other thug, Jack started running different scenarios in his head about what was really going on.
The atmosphere around the city was strange to say the least. It was cold, in the middle of summer, and not because of any wind from the water. Just, cold. Unnerving. She started noticing it during a break in her long gymnastics practices when she was doing correspondence work for college, that her fellow athletes were antsy and nervous, some even missed the easiest of things. By the end she was forced to miss them too just so she didn’t stand out. Luckily she was trained to keep herself from injury while pretending like she was falling though she did knock the wind out of herself several times before she was able to escape practice, which was a welcome relief. She wasn’t sure how much longer she could stand the inane chatter.
Even her walk home was quiet, most of the time there were at least three or four people eyeing her and sizing her up to see if she would make a good target for mugging or rape, depending. Mistakes like that on their part were usually paid for in bumps, bruises, concussions and handcuffs in the same back alleys that they tried to drag her into. But that night she made it home with no problems, to an empty apartment yet again. Her mother was spending far too much time down on the wharfs, and Andi was feeling a bit like an orphan again. When her mother said she was retiring from being Oracle, Andi thought she would be around more. Apparently it meant that her mother would work and worry twice as much. Not to mention yell. A lot.
But before her mother could call and tell her to stay in, Andi was already in a costume and out a window, swinging into the skyscraper jungle with the kind of ease and grace of someone who did it all the time. The heights didn’t bother her, the gravity and thrill of the fall brought her back to life in a way gymnastics didn’t anymore. Oh sure, she still loved it, the difficulty of being perfect was alluring versus the staying alive quality that was evident when she was on the streets. But even the glow of being free didn’t fend off the boredom that encroached after her first mugging and two convenience store robberies that night. Sometimes she was certain her mother gave her all the little jobs and kept her out of the way. But luckily her mother was in her tower, and while she could yell all she wanted, if Andi wanted to take a bender she could. And surveying the city from the roof of Wayne Tower she seriously considered it. Whatever was wrong with everyone was affecting the crime rate too.
Then all hell broke loose on the streets. At first Andi wasn’t sure what to do, while trained it wasn’t like anyone ever let her dive into mobs of thugs on her own. But if she wanted to do something, it was a good idea to get moving before anyone did try to hold her back. So she jumped, swinging through the maze of concrete and steel. “Cannon Ball!” she cried, using her momentum to carry her into a mob of thugs terrorizing a couple of girls and a guy, using them as a landing pad to cushion the force of her drop. She didn’t weigh a hundred pounds, but with her equipment she was probably slightly over that. Still, it wasn’t like Will or one of the other guys plowed into them. Luckily she did manage to knock out several of them, and provide enough of a distraction for the people to get away. “Alright boys, we can do this the easy way, or the excessively painful way.” Andi said, trying to keep their attention on her, which wasn’t hard. Once someone flipped open a knife Andi shrugged. “Painful it is.” She sighed, not completely unhappy, and then swiftly sprang into action.
Her movements were fluid, and hard-hitting. She had strategically place metal and plastic plates in her costume to help make up with what she lacked in sheer power. Andi has also been trained by a good number of the best martial artists in the world, first and foremost being Black Canary, Dinah Lance, her mother’s best friend. And that didn’t include all the dirty fighting Helena and Zinda, also known as Huntress and Lady Blackhawk, had imparted in their young student. It was still hard, they obviously had some sort of training too, and after playing human bowling ball once, she was unlikely to catch them off guard again. But at the very least she could dodge, she was small and fast, but was having trouble ending it as she heard Robin’s voice come over one of the secure lines. “I’ve got something fishy too.” She admitted flicking on the comm and grunting as she dislocated the knee of one of the guys rushing her and sent him toppling into one of his buddies. “Three blocks east and two north. Could use some backup if at all possible, preferable before O finds out.”
As Jake Grayson, the new Nightwing jumped off one building, swan dived and then pulled out a grapple gun and shot it to land softly he smiled. He loved showing off. Jake landed and rolled onto his feet, dropping the gun in the process. He took the stereotypical pose on a Gargoyle that his father took before him, followed by multiple others. He was doing his nightly patrol on the small section of Gotham he was designated by Bruce to check over. With so much of the vigilantes in city they each got a certain part to protect.
As he watched a man in weird clothing emerge from a valley across the street Jake kept his gaze on him, followed by the others and began to attack random civilians. "Oh dear god. Really? So bored you're doing this to keep your self entertained?" He asked as he jumped off the building and landed on the head of a mysterious attacker, who collapsed under the weight. Jake pulled out a small spray and knocked him out with it (the infamous knockout gas) before taking out another one. Who knew how long this was going to last?
He pulled out his staff and twirled it. Nightwing jumped forward, bashing the man on the head with it who drooped a bit but remained standing until Jake swung down and tripped him. "I wander if I can get back up..." Jake asked himself.
Kuro stood a top the building he had been for the beginning of this endeavour. He stood eyes closed but his body at the ready waiting for his plan to be put into action. Hearing everything he inwardly smiled as he heard the actions of his men. 'Good, good my men...' He said listening preparing himself.
His eyes suddenly opened and his gravely voice let out a low command that all of his men heard instantly. "All of you come now."
At the same time all able ninja stopped instantly and began running away from the bat-family to where Kuro now over looked. Three buildings creating a square with only one entrance leading into the alley.
'Come my prey, prove if you are worth my masters time.'
Elena threw punch after punch then the amazing happened, they all left no more people. What the- She thought before looking around her surprised to find her fellow Batfamily members. There was Nightwing, Robin and even Batgirl here, the only missing member being Batman himself. She looked around at all of them moving toward the group of teenagers. Not her ideal team she would chose to fight with but if she had to fight with teenagers these would be the ones she chose, ones that were raised by to protect Gotham.
Batwoman wanted to know who was responsible for this right now the whole thing seemed staged to her. Everyone came together then they left together like if this whole thing was planned out, wasn’t exactly the kind of thing that happened by chance no matter what universe you were in. She looked around trying to see if she could find someone observing from a rooftop or maybe someone on the street, something that was out of place that could result in them finding out who was controlling all of this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Jack had noticed movement beside him, he turned his gaze to each side and was surprised to see several more guys like the ones he had just beat rushing up to the guy he had been pursuing. Looking to each of the men he was now chasing, he noticed how they were all dressed the same and how they all moved the same. The fact that they were all heading in the same direction with him in tow didn’t sit too well with him. It was obvious that they were trying to lead the Teen Wonder into a trap, hell even Jake could figure that one out, but what he hated was that there was really no other option than to walk into the trap.
Hey guys, I’ve got three guys heading Southbound toward Cardigan and Harrow. And they are moving fast, he said over the comm. We better meet up, unless you guys wanna miss out on all the fun.
Then the men all leapt from the rooftops into an alleyway that was a dead end. Jack couldn’t help but grin a little bit to himself at their error. Whoever the thugs were, they didn’t know Gotham as good as he did and know they were done for. Looked like they wouldn’t be springing their trap on him after all he thought.
Diving down after them, Jack threw open his cape and drove his feet in the back of one of the thugs. He watched as the man soared across the alleyway and into the brick wall with a thud. One down. Tackling another man to the ground, Jack drove his elbow in the guys face, and shattered his jaw and nose. As the man passed out cold, he felt two arms wrap around his body and lift him up off the ground.
Look man, I’m all for hugs but you’re in my bubble, he said as he drove the back of his head in the man’s face.
As the man stumbled back, Jack spun around and kicked the man square in the jaw. Shaking his head, Jack looked around the alleyway with a smug grin on his face.
