~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It had been good to see Dick again. He wasn’t surprised to see that he had aged gracefully and he was also pleased that retirement seemed to suit him, though he was a little disappointed that Dick gave up fighting the good fight. Especially with how dark and bleak this future had turned out to be, but it wasn’t his place to judge Dick’s choice. The man deserved a quiet life after everything he did and sacrificed for the greater good.
Their ‘reunion’ of sorts had actually taken up more time than he had expected and wanted to be gone before Jake had arrived. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to meet Dick’s son and successor, he just wasn’t sure if now was the right time to do it. So after a quick goodbye, Bruce stealthily departed the Grayson household.
Standing on the roof of the house, the Dark Knight was preparing to fire his batline through the night sky when his auditory sensors picked up movement behind him. Turning his head to the side, he saw the figure of a person wearing the ever so familiar Nightwing costume rushing toward him. Knowing that leaving was pointless now, Bruce placed the batline back into utility belt, and turned to watch Jake approach him.
Since it was obvious that Bruce wasn’t Will, he knew that the situation that was bound to unfold between him and his grandson was going to be…interesting. He also got the feeling that he should have had Dick meet him at the cave instead of visiting his former sidekick himself.
Jake shot his grappling gun into the water tower above his apartments and watched the hook wrap around it. He pulled the trigger of the grapple-gun and zipped off. Nightwing kept swinging until he could see his apartment rooftop. He swooped down just in time to see a familiar silhouette towards the end of the roof. A Bat shaped one, at that. Will Todd. As he landed he took off running towards him. "WILL! What are you doing here!? I swear to god, if my dad's dead in there I will cu-" Jake barked at him, but was cut off when he realized something.
It wasn't Will. Will was shorter than this. He wasn't as muscular either. This man was to stout to be Will. Jake's face scrunched and he pulled out his collapsible staff (About a foot long right now) just in case. "You're...You're not Will. Who are you, and how did you get that suit?" Jake questioned. He clicked the button on staff and it grew to a 5 foot length.
"Answer the question's, dude."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The second that Jake had referred to him as ‘dude’ the vigilante narrowed his gaze at the teen. Though as much as it annoyed him, he found himself curious to know why Jake would have been concerned about Will killing Dick. Neither Tim, Barbara, or Dick had mentioned any kind of fear that Will would strike out against the old team, though Tim did certainly share his concerns about Will wearing the cape and cowl.
Taking a step forward, Bruce looked the teen over, and evaluated his stance. You would be smart to change your tone and put away your weapon Jake. I’m not looking for a fight and I don’t want to hurt you, he said calmly as he stood there looking down at his grandson. And how I got this suit is none of your business.

It wasn't Will. He was sure it wasn't uncle Tim, or Dad. Definitely not Jack, the voice was to low. "Alright then." Jake slowly agreed, twirling the staff and clicked the button in the middle, as it shrunk back to it's regular 1 foot size.
But then the man said Jake's name, causing the Nightwing to step back a bit. "Just tell me who you are." Jake said angrily. "I won't bite. Look, I'll even set the weapons down." Jake quickly added. He did a back flip away from the stranger and slowly put down his staff, grapple gun and a few wingdings. An armature move, yes, but Jake knew he could trust the guy, no matter how strange he was. He leaped back towards the man slowly put up his hands. "See? No harm, no foul." Jake slowly told him, but wasn't sure what would happen next.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He watched the teen’s little acrobatic show with an emotionless and unimpressed look. There was no mistaking Dick’s style in Jake’s movements, but his show-off attitude didn’t really do much for him. Though it did remind him of Dick and Jason’s earlier days as Robin.
Who I am doesn’t concern you, he stated in a matter-of-factly like tone of voice.
Bruce wasn’t quite ready to go and reveal himself to any of the new generation of heroes that had existed in this time frame. Not like it would matter anyway seeing as this time line wouldn’t exist once he and his friends returned to their time line. One thing for sure was that neither Will nor Elena would be taking up the cape and cowl. Whether or not Dick trained Jake would still be Dick’s choice, but whether or not Jake joined his team would be his. That much was also for sure.
I trust that your father had trained you to keep a couple spares hidden on your person?
When the man said his identity need not concern Jake he was angered a bit. A man just stole the Batman cowl, his grandfathers cowl, a cowl he may take himself. Sure, Jake might not be able to take the man, he was almost double Jake's size. But if worse came to worse he could acrobat his way out of it to dodge a few punches. "I trust that your father had trained you to keep a couple spares hidden on your person?" The man asked. Jake smiled.
"So you know my father." He said, and pulled out a few wingding's from his boot. He still had two, bright blue escrima sticks in there, but the stranger didn't need to know that. He gripped the wingdings in his hand and looked curiously at the man. Of course he still had some more in his gauntlets and his boots, but still. 'The stranger didn't need to know that.' "Alright, sir... My suspicions have grown. I'd still like to know who you are..." Nightwing told him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He was glad to see that Dick had trained his son to always carry spares on him. And if his suspicions were right, which they usually were, he was positive that Jake had even more toys hidden in his boots and gauntlets. He was glad to see that even in his absence that his sons had been training their replacements adequately.
I know your father quite well, but that isn’t any concern to you, he answered. And like I said before, who I am is of no concern to you. However, it’s quite late Jake. You should get inside and get some rest, according to your father you have a big day tomorrow.
Reaching into his utility belt, he pulled out his batline. Turning away from Jake, he held his arm out into the air.
