The elevator doors opened and on the other side was a deep and cavernous area with tech, weapons, cars and costumes in large glass cases with the one in the middle being The one and only Batman suit. Stepping out and standing in front of the costumes a man with deep black hair and blue eyes. "You sure are taking your sweet time aren't you?" The man standing in front of the bat-suit said. "You and Dick are gone. Jason's kid is a walking time bomb the only one I am not having a problem with is JAke..." The man said. "You two need to hurry up and get back here al-?!"
An alarm went off behind the man prompting him to hurry over to a console and see a bank robbery in progress in down town Gotham. "So much for the reverie." The man said running to another part of the cave where another costume stood. It was the costume of Red Robin, originally worn by Jason Todd and others but now worn by Tim Drake.
Yes the man in the Cave was Tim Drake but he would soon be replaced by someone else. After finihsing to put on the last of his costume he put on his cowl and was replaced by Red Robin. Noticing that fact would have to be done another time as he got on his motorcycle and sped out of the cave to where the crime was taking place.
Once he arrived at the scene they were still loading the money. Tim noticed the amount of damage they had already done and wondered what helped them cause it. Tapping a few buttons on a console he fitted to the cycle he put his feet on the seat of the bike and once close enough he took to the air while the cycle continued to speed. Red Robin then drew a small staff from his back and after tapping a button the staff extended and he swung it down as he was about to hit the ground and strike one of the men. sticking his landing he then went off to strike the others near him. Some had been able to keep standing for some reason though dropping the money they had collected.
'Okay, this isn't going to end well.' Tim thought as the men straightened themselves he saw a strange glow in their eyes. 'Crap, Venom...This really won't end well.' He thought taking a defensive stance as one ran to attack him from the front and another from behind. He was able to dodge the two but another had appeard at his side and struck himwith a back fist knocking him to the side. 'Yep, definitely not going to end well.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There was the sound of a dull thud as the thug’s body fell to the pavement at his feet. As the woman thanked him for saving her, he placed some handcuffs on the man. Reaching into his utility belt, he pulled out his batline, and fired it into the air. When the line was secured in the brick ledge, he pressed a button, and was pulled high into the air quickly. It was during his ascent that the explosion reached his ears.
Once he feet were on the building’s rooftop, his attention quickly turned to where the sound of the explosion had come from. When he saw the dark grey smoke rising into the black sky, he narrowed his eyes. He was nearly half way across the city and wasn’t sure if he’d be able to get there in time, but it didn’t mean he wouldn’t try.
Racing across the decrepit rooftops of the corrupt and twisted city, the Dark Knight made his way towards the scene of the crime. As he ran he kept an eye out for his successor and Elena, but neither were anywhere to be seen. When he finally arrived on the scene, he was surprised to see a figure in red and black battling the abnormally large thugs. Part of him was both proud and concerned for the vigilante he saw fighting for his life down below.
As two of the goons charged at Tim as he was off center, Batman leapt into action. Leaping from the ledge of the roof, he threw several small smoke bombs at the two masked robbers who charged at his former sidekick. Throwing his cape open wide, his fall slowed enough so that when he kicked the third robber in the face he didn’t crush his skull entirely and kill him. Though the force should have been enough to knock the guy out he still stood firm looking angrily at the Batman, though it was obvious that his jaw was most certainly broken. When the large man moved to swing at him, the Dark Knight kicked in the man’s kneecap. With a loud crack the man fell to the ground in agony. Driving his boot into the side of the robber’s face as he looked up at him, the Batman watched as the man fell unconscious.
Turning his attention to the other two hulking brutes, he watched as prepared to attack Red Robin once more. Charging at the men, he dove between them. The Caped Crusader landed punch against the jaw of one and a hard kick to the side of the face of the other. Tumbling across the ground, he recovered to his feet quickly, and took a fighting stance beside Red Robin.
Red Robin stood ready for whatever would come next as he saw more moving toward him. He had dealt with people on Venom before and had handled them but inwardly thought about how it was always easier when he had someone by his side. Of course when he saw the smoke bombs he growled. 'Great, just what I needed.' He thought as he struck one that was coming at his side.
He saw the caped figure stirke the others and saw something. Something familiar. Not much time to comment on it that much seeing as he was himself still being attacked. He dealt with his and saw two more beginning to rush him. 'Great.' He prepared himself and then saw the caped figure attack teh two and land near him in a stance.
Red Robin was about to growl at the one next to him thinking it was Will, someone who thought he was able to take Bruces mantle. But he stopped and under his mask his eyes were surprised. The one who had arrived was Batman; the Real Batman, Bruce.
Red Robin smirked and took the stance next to his mentor. "Took ya longer this time, Old age catching up to you?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shut up and fight, he responded in his usual brass voice.
After the two men recovered from his attack on them, they decided to resume their initial attack, and charged at the two vigilantes. As one of the thugs swung at the Dark Knight‘s head, he ducked, and the criminal’s fist went through the side of the van in which they were loading the money into. Giving the man an uppercut to the jaw, he spun around the man, and kicked him into the back of the knee. Reaching into his utility belt, he pulled a small capsule, and smashed it against the thug’s masked face. After one quick inhale of the gas, the criminal’s eyes closed, and he fell to the ground unconscious.
Turning his attention away from the sleeping man, he walked to the driver side door of the van. Opening it up, he glared at the thin masked man who cowered on the floor of the vehicle. When he went to reach for a small sidearm, Batman grabbed the man by the ankle, and yanked him out of the vehicle. When the man hit the pavement, he again tried to reach nervously for his sidearm only to get a kick to the face.
Pulling out another set of handcuffs, he placed them on the driver’s wrists. Grabbing the man’s body, he threw it up against the side of the van, and turned his attention to Tim.

Red Robin smirked as he begun his attack as his metnor did. Going in a separate direction with his staff drawn he began attacking one opponent after the other striking each in different points on the body. After the initial hit that opened them up he finished them off with solid strikes from his staff to their temples or kicking them.
He fared better than he would've back in his younger days and moved with a newfound energy. coming up to the last one that had grabbed his staff. Red Robin chuckled before releasing his staff from his grasp and attacking with a barage of techniques from different fighting forms finshing him off by striking him in the groin with a knee. "Never touch the staff." Red Robin said taking it back from the downed criminal and he begun to cuff each of the ones he had taken care of.
After cuffing the last one he turned to see Batman watching him and he withdrew his staff making it smaller and placing it behind his back. "Took ya long enough."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well it’s better late than never, he countered.
Just in the distance, the sound of sirens approaching could be heard. Knowing he didn’t have much time, the Dark Knight walked over to the robber who’s knee he broke, and knelt down beside him. Peeling off the mask, he noticed several small tubes running into the man’s neck. Pulling them out of the skin, he followed them until they led to a small pack attached to the back of the man’s belt. No sooner had he pulled the pack off the criminal’s belt the man’s body reverted from it’s hulking mass to it’s normal shape of a semi-fit man.
Pulling his batline from his utility belt, he fired it at the building across the street. Turning to Tim, he motioned for his former crime fighting partner to follow after him. Pressing the button on his device, the Dark Knight was pulled through the night sky once more to one of the city’s rooftops. Making his way to the center of the roof so that the police below wouldn’t see them, he turned his attention to his, now grown, adopted son.
Since when did Venom become available for street thugs to buy? He asked with a slightly raised brow as he held up the small pack that contained the criminal’s Venom.
"You've been gone a long time so it's only natural to need to fill you in." Tim said disconnecting the venom devices to the men he had taken down. "You see when you left there was a vaccum in the Gotham underworld. This vaccum led to a lot of infighting for a lot of groups." Tim said as he set down all the devices and turned his head to the sound of the sirens.
"This also applied to Bane and his men. Someone decided it was time for them to take power and to do that he had to take out the leader. So Bane was taken out. This led to an increase in the production of Venom and something the new leader found a really good business to look into." Tim then walked over to his Mentor, "Thus the selling of venom on the street. Has some other names but they all mean the same thing."
Tim took out a small device and began pressing several buttons and after a few moments one of the batmobiles appeared to them. "It's best we go now." He said hitting a button to open the doors to the batmobile. "GCPD is even worse than you remember especially with someone wearing that costume...I'll explain at the cave." Tim said heading for the drivers seat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Tim had told him about the situation involving Gotham’s underworld and Bane, he had to admit that he was actually a bit surprised. He knew Bane quite well and he learned a long time ago to never count the man out. He doubted that Bane was dead and figured that the man who he once thought could have been his brother was still out there plotting revenge against the usurper. But if Bane truly was dead, it said a lot about the shape of this future.
As Tim started to walk away to the other side of the building after pressing some buttons on a remote, the original Batman followed after. Looking down to the street below, he noticed one of the batmobiles pull up to the side of the building. When they both hit the ground and the doors opened up, he narrowed his gaze at Tim as he moved to the driver’s side of the car.
I’ll drive, he said sternly as he walked around and got into the driver seat of the car.
Though the vigilante knew he wasn’t in his time anymore and that a lot of things had changed, the last thing he was going to do was ride shotgun in his own car. Not while he was perfectly capable of driving anyway.
Once the two were situated in the car, he turned his gaze to Red Robin. So care to explain just why it’s not a good idea to be seen in my suit?

Tim shook his head when Bruce over took him and got into the Batmobile's driver seat. He smirked as well though, "Glad to see some things stay the same." He moved his way to the passenger side and they began to drive off. He smiled inwardly, he had been waiting for Bruce to return for so long and now it was like they never skipped a beat. He did grimmace though when Bruce asked the question.
Tim had wanted to wait until they had at least gotten to the Cave before telling him about the circumstances surrounding his temp. "Well you of all people know what happens when Batman isn't here to punish the wicked." Tim began thinking of all the crime that had happened when Bruce and the other seven disappeared. Despite taking care of it he was stretched thin at some points. "So I was left with no choice but to allow someone else to wear the suit. I couldn't do it myself..." Tim hesitated at what he was about to say next.
"Jason had a kid...his name's Will." Tim didn't want to continue but he was left with no choice. "In a large number of ways he is like his father...And he's wearing your suit."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The second that Tim had said that he allowed another to take up his mantle he didn’t like where it was going. He liked it even less once he heard that it was the son of Jason Todd, especially the part where he mentioned that he possessed a numerous amounts of traits that his father did. In response to the news, all the Dark Knight did was scowl and grip the steering wheel of the vehicle tightly. At least he knew why the police wouldn’t be too keen on seeing him.
Though he had really wanted to stop the car and go on a manhunt for Jason’s son, he knew that he had bigger issues at hand to take care of. If the League could find Lex and return to their time he could make sure that Will never took up his mantle. He could also make sure that a lot of other things didn’t happen either.
The rest of the trip back to the batcave had been eerily silent, well more so than it usually was. Once the car came to a stop, Bruce got out of the car. As he looked around the cave, he was actually a bit relieved to see that it had largely remained untouched. Aside from a couple more batmobiles, trophies, and displays the place looked the same.
Shutting the door to the car, Bruce turned to Tim with his angry scowl still on his face. Anything else I should know about?
Though he really didn’t what to know much about the future, he knew that he would need to know what was going on if he was going to stop it from happening. Not to mention that by getting familiar with the timeline would also help in his search for Lex…or so he hoped anyway.
Tim looked away from Bruce when the two stepped out of the batmobile into the cave. He didn't want to look at Bruce when he asked what else he should know seeing as the time had passed.
There had been a number of things that have happened to say the least but there was one that he should know right from the start. "Well..." Tim began.
"Alfred...Alfred has passed."
It was true. Alfred, the man who practically raised Bruce after his mother and father died has gone the same route. The years had passed greatly for Alfred and sadly his time had run out. "He waited for you Bruce. But he couldn't hold on for as long as he usually could."
That was something else true. Since Bruce had disappeared with the other seven; Alfred would always prepare for Bruce's return even when his health took a decline to the point where he was forced to stay in his bed, he fought then as well. "He would've been happy to see you one last time Bruce." Tim said. Looking at his mentor.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Tim had reluctantly told him about Alfred’s passing, Bruce hung his head slightly. It was hard to imagine the mansion, and the team, without Alfred around. All his life Alfred had been a surrogate father figure, confidant, field medic, and friend. It would be hard being in future without him around, but it did give him further motivation to find Lex. To return to the past.
Was it quick and peaceful? He asked with a touch of sadness in his voice.
Bruce really disliked that idea of Alfred dying slowly in pain and he disliked the idea of his disappearance being apart of it. While he and his trusted butler hadn’t always seen eye to eye, there was nobody whose advice and wisdom he valued more than Alfred’s.
Letting out a deep sigh, the time-traveling vigilante turned away from the custom vehicle and further into the Batcave. If he was going to be using it as his base of operations while in the future, he had to get to work on familiarizing himself with the new tech that he knew Tim would have installed.
As he came to the central computer, Bruce slid the cowl from his face, and turned his head slightly so that he could see Tim out of the corner of his blue eyes. Vale’s daughter, Elena. Is she really mine? He asked using his normal voice.

Tim nodded; he had stayed next to the confidant to the Wayne family in his final moments. "We were in his room; I was sitting next to him and he said I would no longer be required and had me leave...He said your name before I left the room. Said you'd be back soon enough." Tim said looking to the ground at the thought of someone he looked at like his own grandfather no longer being with them.
The two were quiet, for Bruce probably to come to the fact that his greatest friend was gone and for Tim to honor the memory of someone who had looked after him with so much care. However with that time pass Tim knew it was back to what was at hand, getting bruce familiarized and keeping him up to date, Bruce had already gone that far ahead and brought up Elena.
Tim nodded. "I had made sure to find out everything about Elena once she put on Kane's old suit. She is competent if that means anything right now." Tim explained about his sister. "She had been injured out in the field which made collecting samples easier than it should be, I had to clean it up for her after she disappeared from the scene. I'm sure the fact that she acts very much like you in the field is good enough." Tim turned and walked to the console that Bruce had gone to.
"My interaction with her is few in costume and here and there as Tim Drake. She holds up well, there are few things she should work on but that should be between you and her. I haven't let her in the cave yet," He said glancing at Bruce to see his reaction, "If you want I could..." Tim didn't finish because he knew Bruce would say something the moment he knew what Tim was thinking.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ No, he responded quickly before Tim could continue down his train of thought. At least, not yet. She still needs a lot of work and I quite frankly don’t trust her, he added as his gaze shifted to the computer in front of him.
Trust wasn’t the only reason Bruce didn’t want to have his illegitimate daughter brought into his private sanctuary, though that was a large part of it. His other reason was that he didn’t want to get attached to her in this timeline when knowing that he wouldn’t be able to have a part in her life when he returned to his time. When Vicki had said she was pregnant, she made it perfectly clear that she didn’t want Bruce to have any part in her life, mostly out of fear of following in his footsteps. Not like it did much good considering she did so anyway without him around in her life.
What about the others? Dick? Barbara? Cassie? Are they okay?
Turning his gaze to Tim once again, Bruce hoped that his son’s answer was a good one. Dick and Cassie were his adopted children and Barbara he always looked at like a daughter as well. Though he was a loner by nature, there was never any doubt that he cared deeply about them.
Tim took a deep sigh, he knew this question would come and prepared his answer. "Cass I hadn't heard from in a while, but to be honest she was never one to check in mostly. She has a daughter; yeah with Conner of all people if that makes sense." Tim said chuckling thinking about his friend and his sister; he never truly saw that coming. "As far as I can gather she's early Cass. Her name's Catherine and she doesn't like rules from the way she works. Other than that I haven't had much interaction with her." Tim said thinking back to all the times he had to get info about the girl.
"Bab's retired....at least she says she is." Tim chuckled thinking about Barbara, "She still dabbles in info brokering, had to have her help a few times since you've been gone."
Then Tim let out a low sigh. He didn't want to continue really but figured Bruce should know. "I have no idea where Dick is. He pops up every now and again and he's helped with Jack;s Training, but other than that he's like a ghost now a days. I've had Jake acting as Nightwing. Kid's like Dick in a lot of ways and isn't hard to deal with."
