~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ibn had been very surprised, and intrigued, when word got out that the young daughter of Darkseid was trying to seek an audience with the head of the League of Assassins. Ibn was well aware of Zantra’s association with the Injustice Society, a group that he considered to be greatly inferior to his father’s vast organization in every way, and didn’t know why she would seek him out. It was because of that curiosity that he agreed to meet with the woman.
Ibn had his people send the villainess a message to inform her that Ibn would meet with her in the courtyard of Conwy Castle in Wales, which was where he was currently standing. Dressed in a black suit, and black overcoat, the son of Ra’s al Ghul waited under the light of the moon for Lady Darkseid to arrive. Of course, Ibn wasn’t alone as he had several dozen of his men around. He doubted that he would need to use them, and if he did he knew it would do any good seeing as how he would be dealing with a god, but he never went anywhere without having his men nearby.
One thing that Ibn did know for certain was that no matter what transpired, he was in for one interesting night.
"I am glad you you are here." In the space between heartbeats, Zantra was quite suddenly simply there, standing directly several paces away from Ibn. Her deadpan tone and noncomittal words were the closest she would deem to lowering herself to gratitude for the Son of the Demon's acquiescence of her request to meet. Appearing in his line of vision rather than teleporting behind her companion, as she was so often wont to do, was a sign of respect though. As she rotated on the spot, floating a couple inches above the ground as she let her electric-azure gaze shift onto each of Ibn's assassins, that mostly-political respect rose several notches to something more sincere; the only person she'd ever previously encountered whose minions' minds resonated such loyalty was her own father.
Of greater priority than her personal respect for the mortal for even coming close to any similarity to the majesty of her father was the implications therein. If his entire organization was as loyal as those members currently present, Ibn's League's part to play in her plans would be all the more vital. Gaze fixed unblinkingly once more on meeting the eyes of the man she'd come here to proposition, done analyzing his "security" such as it was, Zantra delivered her cover story without further preamble. She was not sure how much of the purpose she professed to the Injustice League, or even the portion of her recent past staged for the inter-galactic community at large, he was aware of. It was important to make certain her false role here was solidified prior to any more intrusive attempts at manipulating him towards her ends.
"There are not sides on Apokolips. There is no conflict. There is only Lord Darkseid's will and those who serve it." As she spoke of her home, Zantra allowed her gaze to drift off into space in not-altogether-insincere homesickness. Earth lacked the very purpose and unity she now spoke of, and the constant infighting of its petty mortal residents truly was distasteful to Zantra. Of course, that only affirmed her resolution to conquer the planet and bring its residents under her father's divine rule.
"I suppose that is why I was banished, for attempting a coup that would upset that balance. Only here, in its absence, have I come to appreciate its value." The cover story concocted by Granny Goodness was utterly contrary to Zantra's true nature. She would never betray her father and had always felt unwavering loyalty for his reign. But the daughter of Darkseid was born and bred to deception so the words rolled off her tongue with ease.
"Earth's self-proclaimed heroes are too afraid of their own power, but their adversaries possess the necessary will to unite this planet. That is why I chose to align myself with the Injustice League in my new home here..." A pause; clasping her forearms at the small of her back, Zantra raised her chin to look down at Ibn as she raised her brows in the first change in her otherwise-blank expression since arriving.
"And why I've now come to you and your League.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Zantra had appeared, Ibn raised a brow, and took in a deep breath. It was a neat little trick teleporting in, but it was just that. A trick. He had seen things far more impressive. The only thing that had him off guard was the fact that the woman looked nothing like her father.
It didn’t take long for the son of the great Ra’s al Ghul to become bored with the alien’s little speech and personal history lesson. He quite frankly didn’t give a damn about Apokolips, Darkseid, or her banishment. The only thing he cared about was her interest in the League and just exactly what sort of game she was going to try and play with him.
Look Zantra, how about we just hurry up and cut to the chase okay, he said with an unimpressed tone. We both know that I have no love for the Injustice League, so why are you really here? I doubt it’s to spy on me and I doubt it was to lure me out into the open just so that you could kill me too. So what is it you really want Zantra. What game are you playing at here?
